It took me years to paint on another support than a wall, fence or train. I was never satisfied by the touch, the feeling of the surface.

I cannot paint on a flat surface. I have to feel something under my hands when I paint. What I paint on has to have texture, life, there has to be a vibration, something organic.

It has to remind me of a wall of some sort, something that can be touched as much as looked at. When I paint on canvas, it is prepped with layers of texture, and then layers of paint.
