3 BUILDING PROJECT CELEBRATING GUADELOUPE’S MOST AUTHENTIC AGRICULTURE

Guadeloupe, paradise tropical island located in the French West Indies, is the homeland of rare and delicious varieties of coffee, vanilla and cocoa. Playing a huge part of the islands daily life in in 1700’s, they were left aside to favor the culture of the sugar cane and bananas. Over the last 30 years they have been making a highly appreciated comeback.

Guadeloupe Bonifieur is one of the rarest and most appreciated coffee varieties of the Caribbean. Unchanged for the last 300 years, coffee connoisseurs rank it within the best coffees in the world. Grown facing the ocean, on the volcanic soils of Basse-Terre, shaded by luscious banana trees, this coffee has hints of vanilla and cocoa. Not surprising since these are often cultivated in the same plantations.

The local elects of Basse-Terre, proud of their region’s strong heritage, were quickly seduced by the themes presented, celebrating the culture and the people behind the growth of vanilla, cocoa and coffee.
