You see street art everywhere and you love it.

(If you don’t, stop reading here!)

Do you have a big and beautiful painting idea and you dream of seeing it become reality? It could be for your own personal enjoyment, or to see the smile on people’s face as they walk into your business.

You thought of grabbing a spray can. It would be fun but might not get you the result you are looking for.

Enter the use of hiring an artist.

But where to find such person you may ask?

How to be sure the final result will be as beautiful as you imagine?

What if you don’t have that much imagination, can an artist take your vague ideas and make it into something?

Let’s see how to make your dream come true.

1/ First things first, create your idea book. Pinterest, Google images, Instagram… resources are endless. This will help you when the time comes to express your ideas.

2/ Check out your local street artists. Start in your city’s art district.

Art is very subjective. It is up to you what style you like!

3/ Once you have found a (or several) artists you like, take a look at what they have done. Thanks to social media, it shouldn’t be too complicated #itsmefindmeontheworldwidedweb

Their online images will give you a good idea of their talent. Looking into their past will help you see your future wall.

HINT: if they are good at doing portraits, they will be good at painting anything.

How to know they will be open to paint what you want?

4/ Do they have different styles? Have they explored different themes? If not, chances are they might not be interested in working on your idea. This won’t matter if you love their uniqueness and enjoy their art without influencing it in any way.

5/ Meet the artist and discuss your ideas. If the flow is there, the artist will prepare a mock up to sum up your ideas and his vision.

6/ If you love the mock up, you’ve got yourself a Mural Art Creation!

THE NAIL SALON PROJECT

Street art is everywhere in the neighborhood where this nail salon opened. When envisioning her new business the owner always knew that she wanted mural art. She didn’t have the option of using the outside walls (which she would have prefered) but in the back there was a wall just big enough to create a piece.

She walked around the neighborhood and started selecting her favorite mural art. She decided to contact me.

During the initial meeting, I quickly realised that she had a passion for art but with the opening of her salon she didn’t have time to create an idea book. We talked for an hour and I left with enough information to create a mock up. Her vague idea became a sketch. The owner of the salon loved the direction and the idea became wall art!

It took a day to complete this piece.

What might seem complicated to get started can be solutioned with just a click on the word “contact”! Feel free to reach out with any questions on how to get your mural art done professionally.
